Reflections on nature in a garden in France

  1. I believe this is leucojum aestivum, the summer snowflake (so called as it blooms a bit later than leucojum vernum, even though both bloom in spring.) L. vernum tends to be short, and typically has 1-2 flowers per scape, whereas your plant appears to have 3-4 and is relatively tall, so more likely L. aestivum.

    • That is definitely the flower I remember from Cathy’s garden as I remember it was like snowdrops in summer. I remember the aestivum but not the genus. I did not know there could be the vernum and aestivum varieties, thank you so much. Amelia
